Keswick to Penrith Railway Re-opening

Local Transport Plan

The Local Transport Plan (LTP) is a document issued by Cumbria County Council, setting out their aims, objectives and policies for transport within the County.
The current version (LTP 3) is dated for the years 2011 to 2015.

The County Council issued a draft version for consultation in July 2010 and discussed the responses in September.
Several organisations and members of the public responded with comments that the County Council should protect the Keswick to Penrith Railway trackbed and ssist the Project being developed by CKP Railways plc to re-open the line.

Cumbria County Council is due to submit its proposals to the Government in April 2011.
